Beach Community Meditation

If you’ve been keeping up with our blogs, you may already know that I’m a big fan of meditating with friends!

My good friend Jessie and I started a few months ago. We’d meet on Tuesday afternoon and walk down to the beach to meditate together. We found that the proximity to the ocean made for a deeper experience. The sound of the waves really connected us in. After a while, some more friends wanted to join us so it’s become more of a regular thing.

For President’s Day, our loveable little group of meditators cleaned the beach and then sat for sunset. I focused on an embodied style of meditation to connect us in to our bodies and the earth around us. Feeling the weight of gravity pulling you downwards. The breeze across your skin. The sound of the waves in your ears. All of the sensations active in the present moment!

We hope to continue to organize events like these to foster community and give back in different ways. As far as we’re concerned, the more the merrier! So come sit with us!

If you are local to the LA Area, email us at for more info. While the days are still short, we meet in Marina Del Rey around 3:30pm and wrap up around 4:30pm. As Summer approaches, we will start to meet later in the day.
