Meet the WBP Team

Connie Clotworthy

Connie Clotworthy is a certified Vipassana Meditation Instructor through the University of Holistic Theology - Online Holistic Degree Programs. Connie also has certifications in Mindful Communication and Difficult Emotions from Mindful Schools. Connie is a Landmark Forum graduate, completing the Curriculum for Living and has since co-founded, WORTHY BEYOND PURPOSE with the mission of transforming the world through mindfulness and meditation practices.

Connie teaches at Ecole Claire Fontaine and volunteers at A Place Called Home, the Boys and Girls Club at MarVista Gardens, Santa Monica YMCA and will start facilitating programs at Citizens of the World Charter School in the fall of 2019 teaching these practices.

Witnessing the benefits of steady meditation practices, Connie’s passion for teaching these tools to the world continues to flourish. She has led meditations at many events including, Elevate LA, Ossia Arts, Veg Fest, Starseed Initiative, Dept of Child and Family Services, and for corporations including Irth Communications. Connie was also co-creator and facilitator of the meditation retreat, Root to Rise, held in Jamaica and she also runs the mindfulness program, The Zone, at Summer Camp in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.

As a child, Connie always felt different, never really fitting in. Having that feeling of never being good enough, she battled with substance abuse for many years. It wasn’t until she was taught how to meditate by one of her mentors, that her life began to change. Through meditation, Connie has found her wholeness and her purpose in this life. She will never be able to repay that mentor for giving her the gift that adamantly gave her her life back but she will make it her life’s mission to teach the world how to access their power and their wholeness. This is a journey where there is no end. This is her life's work and passion.

Danielle White is certified in Mindfulness from LACC and in addition, has certifications in Mindful Communication and Difficult Emotions from Mindful Schools. She studies Eastern View and Holistic Healing with Red Bamboo Medicine in Oakland and currently oversees Worthy Beyond Purpose programs at Walgrove Elementary and the Santa Monica YMCA. Danielle carries a Bachelor of Science in Film from Emerson College and is the Cooresponse Lead of Worthy Beyond Purpose Inc. This Summer, she will be teaching the kids at Ecole Claire Fontaine in Venice. Danielle’s passion is working one-on-one with children and adults to develop personal mindfulness routines that readily fit into their home lives. She also co-hosts meditation and sound healing with Skye Ray Wellness in Los Angeles, is the meditation facilitator for The Starlight Perch in Joshua Tree, and co-organized and led meditations for the Root to Rise Retreat in Jamaica. No matter where she is working, she puts a focus on easy integration into everyday life and small steps that lead to big changes.

Danielle began her mindfulness journey in 2001 when she attended her first yoga class. She sat in her first Vipassana meditation in 2006 but it was in 2016, with the death of a close friend, that she was fully able to comprehend the extent of the role that meditation and mindfulness can play in one’s life. Moving through deep grief and sadness on that magnitude was a life-changing experience that truly became a teacher of acceptance, resilience, and gratitude. Coming out the other side, Danielle started to use mindful practices to make seemingly insignificant adjustments. As big transformation followed, it became obvious that the more aware we are in every aspect of our lives, the more power we have to create, to find peace and to be of service.

Jasmine Carey

Jasmine Carey has a B.A. in Education from the University of Vermont and more than 20 years of teaching experience. She was first a classroom teacher in 1992 and since that time has been a literacy program creator, an after school program coordinator, a youth development practitioner, a mental health advocate, worked within public and charter schools, and worked countless summers at camps and running her own summer school programs. She has certifications in Mindfulness from Mindful schools and was an extremely active clerk and committee head for 6 years on a Board of Trustees for an experiential learning youth organization. Currently she works for an English tutoring agency, teaches classes in Mindfulness at the Love School in Topanga, California and teaches at the First Day School in Santa Monica, California. Additionally she fills in at Ecole Claire Fontaine and our other programs when necessary and ran our program at the Mar Vista Boys and Girls Club for the past year. This summer she will be traveling to Jamaica to help run our summer mindfulness program there. She is our social media coordinator and lead writer/content creator.

Jasmine’s passion for working with young people started at a very young age. By 15 she had enough experience already to successfully work in a program for emotionally disturbed children and running the children’s learning program at her Quaker meeting year round. She was always skilled at teaching and working with young people. Over the years she has embraced both classroom and experiential learning forums to teach youth development and empowerment skills to children and youth; to protect them, to give them the tools to feel worthy and loved, and to help them peacefully navigate their way in this modern world.

Jasmine grew up Quaker. She learned Quaker practices, to meditate and the philosophies of mindfulness from a very young age and is thrilled to be bringing these practices to larger audiences. She understands what it takes to create and facilitate meaningful programming for young people at both the macro and micro level. Her personal skills and experiences have all coalesced into the creation of the Worthy Beyond Purpose program, giving our young people the tools desperately need, in our current world climate.
